HDFC Bank Revamps Airport Lounge Entry for Debit Card Users
HDFC Bank will shift debit card lounge access to digital vouchers from January 2026, raising the quarterly spend requirement and ending physical card entry at airports.
HDFC Bank is changing how debit card customers access airport lounges, with a new digital first system coming into effect from January 10, 2026. The bank will discontinue physical debit card swipes at lounges and replace them with digital vouchers. Under the revised rules, customers must spend at least ₹10,000 in a calendar quarter to qualify, double the earlier ₹5,000 threshold. Eligible cardholders will receive a voucher link via SMS or email within two working days, which can be redeemed at partner lounges across major Indian airports.
